Sandra Sargent, DVM, DACVD
Dr. Sandra Sargent is a native of Beaver County. She received a BS in Animal Science from West Virginia University and her veterinary degree from the University of Minnesota in 1992. She spent 11 years in private practice in central and eastern Pennsylvania before completing a three-year residency specializing in veterinary dermatology at the University of Tennessee. Dr. Sargent passed a rigorous examination and achieved board certification in veterinary dermatology in August 2006. Her special interests include diseases of the ear canal and equine dermatology. She has authored several publications and has spoken at numerous continuing education seminars.
Dr. Sargent spends her free time breeding, showing and competing in field trials with her Brittanys, and riding her Tennessee Walking Horse.
Elizabeth Toops, DVM, MS
Practice Limited to Dermatology
Dr. Toops graduated with highest distinction and received her Bachelor of Science degree from Purdue University in 2001. She earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2005. She then completed a year-long rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Carolina Veterinary Specialists in Charlotte, NC. After her internship, Dr. Toops completed a 3-year residency program in dermatology at Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine, where she also completed a Master of Science degree in biomedical sciences. Dr. Toops is a member of Phi Zeta, a veterinary honors society, and her clinical interests include canine demodicosis and canine and feline atopy.
When not working, Dr. Toops enjoys spending time with her husband (also a veterinarian) and pets, reading and jogging.
